About the Volunteering

SIAS is the largest actuarial society in the UK and a regional hub for actuaries based in London and South East England. One of the objectives is to promote and introduce actuarial profession to others as well as provide members of SIAS the opportunity to develop soft skills (such as presentations skills).

As part of this initiative we are organising school/career talks to broaden students' understanding of actuarial profession and give them another career opportunity to consider.

There will be events throughout the year and sessions may be include the opportunity to:

1. Present our profession and explain what a normal working day looks like.
2. Deliver an interactive activity to give students a taste of our professional work.
3. Answer questions they may have.

If you are interested to take part in this or any future school/career talks events, please register your interest at charity@sias.org.uk, your time and contribution are highly appreciated!

This time the school/career talk is at:

Brampton Manor Academy, Roman Road, East Ham, London, E6 3SQ

on Thursday 17th Jul 2025 13.45am-14.45pm.

The students will be in Year 12, all studying Maths and Further Maths.
