Clouded Judgement: Unveiling the health impacts of vaping
There has been an increase in electronic vape use in recent times.
Latest data shows: The proportion of the population using e-cigarettes in 2023 was 9.1%, the highest rate ever, equal to 4.7 million adults in Great Britain
◦ 2.7 million (56%) are ex-smokers
◦ 1.7 million (37%) are current smokers
◦ 320,000 are never smokers (1.1% of never smokers are current vapers, and 6.7% of current vapers are never smokers).
Despite claims, vaping carries health risks and long-term studies are needed. In this talk, the speaker explores the health impacts of vaping, and what this might mean in terms of the development of chronic health conditions such as lung and heart disease in the future.
