About the Meeting
Role of actuaries in the reinsurance strategy optimisation needed in current times.
Insurers continue to face pressures on their bottom-line, in this environment where capital is increasingly expensive and scarce. Accounting changes through IFRS17 potentially bring more volatility to insurers and more scrutiny on pockets of underperformance. With this landscape in mind, motivations for reinsurance purchase have broadened while reinsurance remains a key pillar in the resilience of the financial balance sheet. In this session, the speaker will share case studies on how actuaries play an increasing role in setting strategic directions and evaluating reinsurance structures from a capital management perspective.
The speaker for this event is:
- Valerie Gilles-Coeur (Vice President-Reinsurance) Swiss Re.
Presentation 12.30 -2.00 PM including open discussion.
