Pricing in general insurance: The calculation of the actuarial premium and its use for estimating the rate change
A brief excursus of experience rating (pricing based on historical loss experience) with both traditional (burning cost) and modern (stochastic frequency/severity modelling) methods, followed by a discussion of how the calculation of the technical premium enables an actuarially-informed calculation of the rate change, a crucial tool for portfolio management.
