SIAS Professionalism CPD event
What does it mean to be part of a profession, and what actually is a profession? This session will cover the governance of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, which is a lot more interesting than it sounds, and does affect all actuaries in ways we may not appreciate. This session will then move on to what happens when governance goes wrong with real examples.
Finally, we will look at how it feels to be caught up in a situation where there is poor governance and discuss the ethical dilemmas that people face and how they dealt with them. Or haven't dealt with them.
This should count as two hours of professionalism CPD.
