About the Meeting
Emerging opportunities in longevity data science
What do longevity actuaries do? Does it have good career prospects?
The UK can reasonably claim to be a world-leader in the financial risk management of longevity.
Aging pensioner populations, low interest rates and the emergence of big data techniques have created a great environment for innovation.
Two specialists in longevity risk, a generation apart, will share their experiences of working in this rapidly developing actuarial field. Douglas Anderson and Mark Sharkey will present a series of case studies to illustrate how new techniques are enabling richer analysis, creating multi-disciplinary interactions with fellow professionals, and, in passing, even offer a few tips for effective risk communication.
